NCI-Roberts is remodeling the former Mazomanie Elementary School into a community center and worship space for New Heights Church. Called The Grove, the 61,700 square foot building will serve the New Heights faith community in addition to local organizations, service programs, and individuals. The project is a result of 15 years of planning and was originally envisioned as new construction. When the school came up for sale, New Heights changed direction, realizing that the existing building could be more affordably remodeled to meet its goals. The facility will house the Heights Unlimited food pantry and clothes closet, and will also include a large group space, a gymnasium, offices, meeting rooms, a fiber arts space and classrooms.
A new airlock entryway will be added to the existing building. Additional work includes new plumbing, electrical, fire protection, insulation, drywall, paint, doors, ceilings, light fixtures and flooring. The building will get a new roof and siding, and some sidewalks will be replaced. The resulting facility will be a space where people gather, connect, and thrive.
