Congratulations — your committee has developed an ambitious long-range vision for your organization! The question now is: How will you get there?

Planning to build in phases can allow your church or nonprofit organization to systematically work toward its long-range goals at realistic intervals. Phasing allows an organization to space out fundraising, control budgets, and manage debt while still growing over time.  Many NCI-Roberts Construction’s clients frequently phase their projects in various ways. Let’s look at one of them more closely.

TWO ADDITIONS AND MULTIPLE REMODELING PROJECTS

church additionNCI-Roberts has enjoyed a more than 15-year relationship with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and School in Madison spanning several phases of projects that supported their growth. The first phase was an award-winning, 4,000 square-foot addition that connected the existing church building to the school. This phase included other features such as a new church office suite, community and fellowship space, restrooms, additional classrooms, and more. The improvements provided space for more than 300 new members.

The next phase was a remodeling project that transformed the original kitchen, near classrooms, into restrooms for a better use of space and with an eye toward future expansion.

gymThe most recent phase was an award-winning, 12,000+ square-foot addition and a remodel of the existing approximately 5,000 square-foot childcare center. The addition houses new classrooms, bathrooms and more, plus a new gymnasium designed to allow for future expansion. The remodeled childcare center required gutting the space and rebuilding it, including bathrooms, cabinetry, and more. This phase allowed Our Redeemer to offer excellence in Christian education and care to more families and set it up for yet another phase of expansion. NCI-ROBERTS CAN HELP

NCI-Roberts understands the unique challenges facing churches and nonprofits and fully supports their frequent need to phase projects. “We understand the process and work through it with each client,” explains Jace Jontz, senior project manager for NCI-Roberts. “We’re willing to keep these projects in the pipeline even when the planning process takes years. We help these clients along the way. Not every construction company is willing to do that.”
